If you find yourself frequently visiting Dubai Mall but have never ventured into China Town, it’s time to explore. On our latest visit, we decided to give Jin Yi Restaurant a try, and it was a delightful experience.
Here’s what we indulged in:
Wonton Soup
The Wonton Soup was a perfect start to our meal. The broth was clear and flavorful, with a rich, savory taste that hinted at hours of slow cooking. The wontons were delicate, filled with a generous portion of seasoned chicken and shrimp, offering a satisfying bite each time.
Shrimp Roll
Next up, a shrimp roll sushi, featuring fresh, succulent shrimp and creamy avocado.
Chicken Dumpling
The Chicken Dumplings were soft and perfectly steamed, encasing a juicy filling of tender chicken mixed with herbs and spices. Each bite melted in the mouth, making it a comforting and delicious choice.
Tempura Shrimps
The Tempura Shrimps were a crispy treat. Lightly battered and fried to golden perfection, the shrimps retained their natural sweetness and juiciness. The tempura batter was light and not greasy, making it a delightful and airy appetizer.
Peking Duck
The Peking Duck was the highlight of the meal. Served with traditional pancakes, hoisin sauce, and thinly sliced cucumbers and spring onions, the duck was tender with perfectly crispy skin. The combination of flavors and textures made each wrap a gourmet delight.
Fried Noodles
The Fried Noodles were a satisfying addition to our feast. Cooked to perfection with a medley of fresh vegetables and a savory sauce, the noodles were flavorful and had a pleasant bite. Each mouthful was rich in taste, making it a perfect side dish.
Beef Short Ribs
The Beef Short Ribs were exceptionally soft and sweet. The meat fell off the bone effortlessly, infused with a rich, sweet marinade that complemented the beef’s natural flavors. This dish was a true comfort food.
Green Tea
We accompanied our meal with Green Tea, served in traditional tea bags from China. The tea had a light, refreshing flavor with a slightly grassy note, cleansing the palate between dishes and providing a soothing end to the meal.
Sesame Balls
For dessert, we enjoyed Sesame Balls. These chewy delights were filled with sweet red bean paste and covered in a crunchy sesame seed coating. The contrast between the crispy exterior and the soft, sweet interior made for a perfect end to our dining experience.
Each dish was served in portions suitable for two people, ensuring we had plenty to share without feeling overwhelmed. Overall, the food at Jin Yi Restaurant was worth every penny. The flavors were authentic, the portions generous, and the dining experience memorable.
